Cadmeo

Terms of use

The tools are free to use, for anything, with no account. What follows is mostly about the limits of what a browser-based calculator can promise you.

Using the site

You may use every tool here, for personal or commercial work, without asking and without paying. There is no account, no usage quota and no licence to accept.

What you produce with the tools

Whatever you put into a tool remains yours, and so does whatever comes out. We claim no rights over your input or your results, and cannot in any case, since neither ever reaches us. Generated output (a password, a QR code, a name, a colour palette) is yours to use however you like, with no attribution required.

You are responsible for having the right to use what you put in. If you do not hold the rights to an image, a document or a body of text, processing it here does not change that.

Accuracy, and what results can be relied on for

The tools are built carefully and their methods are described on each page, so you can check the working rather than take the number on trust. They are still provided without warranty, and you should treat the output as a calculation you have performed, not as professional advice.

That matters most where a result feeds a consequential decision. Verify independently before relying on any output for:

  • Anything financial, contractual or tax-related.
  • Anything legal, or submitted to a regulator or authority.
  • Validators. Confirming that a card number, email address or URL is well formed is a check of structure, not of whether it exists, is active, or belongs to anyone.
  • Security-sensitive work. Generated passwords and tokens use your browser’s cryptographic random number generator, but how you store and handle them afterwards is outside our control.
  • Anything irreversible, such as overwriting the only copy of a file with a converted one.

If a tool returns a wrong answer, that is a defect and we want to know. See the contact page. Reporting one is more useful than working around it.

Availability

The site is offered as it is, with no uptime commitment. Tools may be changed, consolidated or removed. When a tool is removed, its address is redirected to the closest equivalent where one exists rather than being left to break.

Because everything runs in your browser, an outage of this site does not put your data at risk: there is nothing of yours held here to be lost.

Acceptable use

Please do not:

  • Attempt to disrupt the site or the infrastructure serving it.
  • Use the tools to process material that is unlawful to possess or handle.
  • Republish the site’s written explanations, examples or FAQs as your own. The tools are free to use; the writing around them is not free to copy.

Automated bulk use is not forbidden, but the tools are client-side and are not an API. If you need to process at volume, running the logic yourself will serve you better.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, Cadmeo is not liable for loss or damage arising from use of the site or reliance on its output, including lost data, lost profit or consequential loss. Some jurisdictions do not permit certain exclusions; where that is so, this section applies only as far as it lawfully can, and your statutory rights are unaffected.

Governing law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws. Any dispute arising from them is to be resolved through appropriate legal channels.

Changes

These terms may change; the date at the foot of this page shows when they last did. Continuing to use the site after a change means the revised terms apply.
